TwoCents, Jalan Cimanuk, Bandung

For a while we are searching for the right time to visit this coffee vendor, but with hectic schedules that we have, along with the crowded people that came to TwoCents makes our visit delayed over time.

Until one day, one of our cousin, ask to meet Aswin for business development consultation. We propose to meet up here. Their design is very warm and intimate. Perfect for meeting or a session of quiet reading. They also incorporated a unique ordering system specifically found in modern coffee shop, where we pay for the meals and coffee that we ordered prior to sitting. Then we take our order after they finished making it.

We tried their bagels (Aswin's favorite type of bread besides focaccia), and their open sandwich. We also ordered their cold and iced coffee. The overall experience was delightful. One of the many coffee shops vendors that you should visit if you are happened to be around the area.

Enjoy!

Things We Found in Keuken: Original Brandon & Jason Coffee and Lemontree

Keuken is an annual food festival in Bandung. Today is their fifth edition and it takes place in Bandung City Hall. There are several food vendors opening their stalls today and we have managed to sample several outlets that interests us.

For more information about Keuken, you can go and visit their website here.

Original Brandon & Jason Coffee + Lemontree

We found these two vendors side by side on our way back home. One specialized in local coffee and the other one sells fresh lemonade. The Original Brandon and Jason coffee provides two unique menu: Iced Lemon Black and Iced Sparkling Black. We tried the Iced Sparkling Black, and for us it tasted quite unique. The Lemontree offered a freshly squeezed lemonade which also tasted wonderful.

Looking forward to find these two stands in the next Keuken event.

Enjoy!

Bangi Kopitiam Braga CityWalk, Bandung

We visit this place by accident, as we are "stranded" in Braga CityWalk, waiting to pickup our parents from the hospital. As the place has been heavily renovated, we find plenty of new vendors in the mall. One of them is this: Bangi Kopitam.

Located conveniently in front of the mall, Bangi Kopitiam boasting various snacks and foods from Malaysia. Their signature item in the menu? Toasted Bun with two different Kaya topping and their coffee. In overall their food tasted great, especially with the discount that they are serving right now :).

Hopefully the discount are still available when we visit them again soon.

Jakarta (Culinary) Trip in March 2014: Bengawan Solo KM 19

We thought going back to Bandung after lunchtime on Monday will be traffic jam free.

Oh, how we are never been so wrong before.

The traffic is heavy with trailer trucks all over us. Combined with an urge to pee, we decided to visit the KM 19 toll road rest area in Cipularang toll road. After looking for parking lot in several rounds, we finally found a spot to park.

While we are here, we decided to grab a meal, and we decided to try the new menu in Bengawan Solo Coffee. Alia ordered their Ramen, while I ordered their chicken burger.

In overall the taste is okay, and it fuels us to go and join the dreadful traffic up ahead.

Enjoy!

Jakarta (Culinary) Trip in March 2014: Djournal Coffee Summarecon Mall Serpong

While waiting for the dentist appointment in Gading Serpong area, we decided to wait in the Summarecon Mall Serpong. We have not visited this mall for a while, and thing has changed quite a lot for the past months.
As it is not yet meal time, we decided to hang out in a coffee shop. Alia mentioned about a new coffee joint called Djournal Coffee and that is where we are heading.
Located conveniently in the lobby of the mall, the coffee shop offered unique coffee beans from all around Indonesia. We decided to try them out.
The flavor is strong and it is quite like we like it.
Now we are ready to meet the dentist :)

Riau Islands (Culinary) Trip in March 2013: Kopi Selamat Pagi

Selamat Pagi!

Good Morning!

This is what we have tasted when we tried this coffee from Batam during our last trip there. The vendor stall was accidentally located during our search for cool beverages when we are "lost" in Nagoya Shopping District, Batam.
The taste of the coffee is quite strong! Inline with their name "Selamat Pagi". Really can kick start your morning in a positive way ^_^.

Enjoy!

Calais Artisan Bubble Tea & Coffee, Paris Van Java Bandung

One of the main thing that we like to do after sight-seeing in a mall is to find a place to hangout and to stretch our legs. In each mall, we have our own unique place to go, and in Paris Van Java mall, Calais is the place for that.

Located in front of the Gym, this place usually not too crowded. Perfect for us who likes solitude and avoiding the crowded people (read: Jakarta tourist) who come and visit Bandung.

Their beverages is also tasted great, making it one of the top three bubble tea outlets that we really liked in Bandung.

Curious about the other two? Well, I guess you will have to browse through our archive to find them :). Good luck!

Enjoy!

Wiki Koffie, Braga, Bandung

We visited this place after a couple of times passing by the establishment. Today, accompanied with our close friend, Ramala, after a Yoga class, we decided to visit the cafe.

The cafe itself is quite small, only provides around 10-15 person seating, but it makes the environment very warm and cozy. The materials is mostly refurbished, kinda bringing a home aura to it.

Their menu is varied, with coffee as their main attraction. They also serves some heavy meals such as chicken fingers with rice and curry with rice. For me, the main attraction is their flavored pop-corn. I love pop-corn, and the idea of combining them with coffee is a master piece (well, at least in my opinion).

Exercise. Eat. Chatting. Only one thing left to do after this...

Sleep! :)

Enjoy!

Amateur Instant Coffee Reviewer: Russian Coffee

Today, we have the chance to "loot" our parcel delivery. Well, technically, it is not our parcel, but since no one has opened them, we decided that we should do the honor :).

Fun things about parcel, is that you can expect to find a funny and mysterious items, sometimes very unfamiliar for us. It is like visiting an antique shops or flee markets, you can always find something that is amusing for you.

Like today, we have the chance to taste this instant coffee. Alia says that this prepackaged instant coffee has hit the shelf of certain supermarkets in Bandung. Intrigued, as an amateur instant coffee connoisseur, I have decided to taste them myself.

One box consisted of 6 pack of instant coffee. The taste is very delicate, with the hint of fruit at the end. Nice flavor based for me, although quite hit for Alia, as she preferred a strong black coffee.

As the box only consisted of 6 pack, it is only a matter of time for me to ask myself: When will Lebaran and Christmas comes again in 2014?

Enjoy!

Alia has been craving to visit this place for a while, so when the time comes to visit she was delighted. We visit the place accompanied by two of our small nephews during a car free day event in Dago area.

The place is just opened for less than a month. Located beside TBI in jalan Dago, it has spacious parking lot and spacious interior.

The menu they sell here consisted of honey bread, waffle, coffee, and their specialty: Bingsu.
We ordered the Green Tea Bingsu and Waffle.

The Bingsu comes in large portion. It can serve for up to four people. The waffle tasted fresh and light. Perfect for enjoying at with your friends.

Enjoy!

Kopi Joss: Coffee with Charcoal Brisket Infusion

We have been reading the review of this particular coffee beverages with unique serving for quite some time. It looked interesting, coffee with brisket in it, and the appearance wasn't bad at all. The coffee itself is using cups made from coconut.

Actually, we have been searching for this place for quite some time. The place itself is quite hard to find since it is stand in between rows of street vendors on jalan Burangrang.

Suddenly, one time we found it. It was just opposite of Baso Malang Enggal and near the Bubur Pelana, but we noticed that they opened only at night. So, on Tuesday after Yoga class, it is our 'menggembul' time, we decided to hang out in here.

Beside the coffee,  they also provide bajigur and bandrek. As the food,  they serve kue balok and also surabi fusion.

The coffee tasted unique as it has some kind of mineral content due to the hot charcoal brisket that is dumped inside the coffee. Very good for accompanying a cold night like now, especially after exercising.

Yum! Enjoy!
