Jakarta (Culinary) Trip in March 2014: Bengawan Solo KM 19

We thought going back to Bandung after lunchtime on Monday will be traffic jam free.

Oh, how we are never been so wrong before.

The traffic is heavy with trailer trucks all over us. Combined with an urge to pee, we decided to visit the KM 19 toll road rest area in Cipularang toll road. After looking for parking lot in several rounds, we finally found a spot to park.

While we are here, we decided to grab a meal, and we decided to try the new menu in Bengawan Solo Coffee. Alia ordered their Ramen, while I ordered their chicken burger.

In overall the taste is okay, and it fuels us to go and join the dreadful traffic up ahead.

Excelso Coffee, Toll Road KM 57

As we are often traveled to Jakarta, sometimes we make a quick stop at several resting points along Cikampek and Padalarang Toll Road. One of our regular resting point when we are traveling from Jakarta to Bandung is usually the KM 57 Resting Point. And one of the regular resting point that we are frequently visited is the Excelso Coffee. The reason is usually because of their great coffee, and sometimes they give great discounts if you use certain credit card. Sometimes up to 50%. So, double the fun, besides the great coffee and sandwiches, also with quite affordable price for similar products sold in the other vendors :). Bon Appetite!

Rice Bowl (2x) !!!

On a rare occasion, we actually have gone and eat in a restaurant twice in a week. This week the privilege  goes to Rice Bowl (http://www.ricebowl.co.id/). We ate it twice on Friday in Jakarta and on Sunday in Toll Road KM 57.

Overall their taste is quite good, the services is ok (on Friday, although the restaurant has last order on 08.30 PM, they let us stay there until 09.00 PM without any buggering "notification"), and the selection of their menu has quite a lot of variance.

Soto Sadang, KM 57

Soto Sadang is actually a meat soup, consist of meat broth, herbs, and your choice of meat (chicken, meat, or combination of both).
You're also have the choice to choose whether you want to add coconut milk in it (santan). 
The main branch is in Purwokerto area. The one that we tried is in the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road Rest Area at KM 57.
