Warung Nasi Ampera @Soekarno Hatta Bandung

One of the famous traditional food vendor in Bandung. It was first designated for traveler and truckers who wants to have meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, thus that is the reason why it's opened until late at night... Or is it 24 hour service?).
Nowadays, thanks to the Cipularang toll road, this place has become a tourist magnate and destination. Trucks have been replaced with arrays of cars with B, Z, AB, F, and other than D (The official Bandung area license plate) car plates.
Thankfully their food is still as good as they was before.

Enjoy!

Durian Anyone?

Ah... The Durian...

The delicious, yet very dangerous snack due to it's high cholesterol content. What's not to love about them?

This vendor is the only some Durian stalls in Bandung. Their Durian is great, but the location needs to be cleaned more as we are enjoying the Durian together with some of unfriendly flies -___-".

It's quite tasty and considered trendy for now in Bandung.
Talked about another trend victim eh? :D

Swatt Lasagna and Macaroni Schotel

This is another type of food that we don't know existed in Bandung, but suddenly someone deliver it to our door :).
This Macaroni Schotel tasted superb! Probably the best that I ever had in Bandung. Really classic and really delicious.

I'm wondering when someone will deliver this again to our door soon hehehe...

Enjoy!

Gandhi Steak at Teras Kota BSD

When Gandhi was opening a new branch in BSD, I was super excited. This establishment has been a landmark for steak house in Jakarta for long time. Just like Tizi's for me in Bandung.

And it was worth every penny :) (and it does, as Gandhi can be considered quite expensive compared with other new steak house)  I experienced a very traditional yet delicious steak dinner here. Opened with bread and butter (nowadays it is not quite common for steak house to serve this type of service), the steak which can be ordered medium, the sauce which are separated from the steak, and pickled onion.

Yummy! Will definitely coming back here again soon :).

Burger Time!

Always been my favorite burger stand in Indonesia, besides the Blenger Burger. But, since it is still considered as fast food and given that my cholesterol level is quite high (I solely blame this condition to this blog :P), so it has becomes a luxury.

But hey, foodie needs to eat, right? So Burger King it is :).

Kedai Serabi at Buah Batu

Alia and I always been a sucker for a great Serabi (Indonesian version of pancake, make usually from rice flour). So, when we find a new Serabi vendor near our house, we decided to give it a try.

The taste is ok, it's cheap, and it's located near our house. The location is quite tucked inside the main road, so you are forgiven if you have problem finding the location. Hopefully they can move to a more strategic location soon.

Blast to the Past!

Do you remember movies made by the talented the late Adi Bing Slamet, Benyamin Sueb, and Sophan Sophian? Do you want to repeat the past by watching the legendary Indonesian movies such as Tutur Tinular, Bayi Tabung, or even the famous Catatan si Boy? (The original one, not the remake one).

Then you should try to eat in Warung Misbar!
The ambiance takes you back in the past, when those famous actors and actress are in their heyday. Besides the entertainment, you can also enjoy their foods and drink which is quite ok (especially when they named your beverages as "Es Kabayan Saba Kota").

Dimsum Time!

Been craving for Dim Sum for a while. Anthony Bourdain article about Dim Sum and Din Tai Fung also makes it worse. The closest thing that we have to Din Tai Fung in Bandung is the Duck King. And luckily, they have a promo of Dim Sum menu at the cost of Rp 9.800 (US$ 1) per portion.

Yum! Let just say that our craving have (almost) been healed for now. Maybe next time we can try the Din Tai Fung that we've craved on. Anyone wants to treat these two university students? Hehehe...

Enjoy!
