South Korea (Culinary) Trip in November 2012: Dinner at Daepyeong Galbi, Seoul

It was our last night in South Korea, so we must celebrate the farewell night with something unique that is their famous cuisine, Kalbi or Galbi. According to Wikipedia, kalbi or galbi generally refers to a variety of gui or grilled dishes in Korean cuisine that are made with marinated beef (or pork) short ribs in a ganjang-based sauce (Korean soy sauce). In the Korean language, galbi literally means "rib" and can refer to cooked or uncooked ribs. Although the dish's full name is galbi gui, the word "gui" (grilling) is commonly omitted. It is listed at number 41 on World's 50 most delicious foods readers' poll complied by CNN Go in 2011.

The restaurant located on the way from downtown to our hotel. The place had rustic atmosphere and quite traditional, we sat on the floor, and as usual the eating done in communal consist of Beef Galbi and the side dishes, they also served lettuce as a wrapper. Well, I love this food, actually I love Korean food in general.

So, it was sad to have to leave South Korea because we had so many amazing experience. We LOVE South Korea, their food, their cultures. Hopefully we had a chance to come here again!

Enjoy!
