South Korea (Culinary) Trip in November 2012: Samgyetang, Chicken Soup for the Soul, in Seoul

Based on WikipediaSamgyetang is a variety of guk Korean soup, which primarily consists of a whole young chicken and Korean ginseng. The dish's name literally translates as "'ginseng chicken soup" in English. Samgyetang is traditionally served in the summer for its supposed nutrients, which replaces those lost through excessive sweating and physical exertion during the hot summers in Korea.

So, the soup literally like herbal medicine. It tasted so bland, and everyone was complaining over that. So, some of us weren't eating the soup at all, but Aswin and I, we tried to finish it. Actually, it was kind of good hot soup in the freezing night, it was heaven for the stomach. This soup also quite known as a cure for hangover and quite famous for Korean Drama lovers.

We're in Korea, so we must embrace their culture, although it tasted a little bland.... or it just some justification?

Enjoy!
