(Culinary) Trip around Bandung with Christa: Punclut Sunday Market

Punclut is one area in Northern part of Bandung and it is in Ciumbuleuit. It is known for the street vendors that sold the Nasi Timbel or you can say Sundanese cuisine. Every Sunday there always the Sunday Market, people practically sold everything here from foods, vegetables, clothing and many more, even pet like birds and rabbits.

We picked this place as one of venue in this trip around Bandung with Christa, because we think it's the place where Christa can experience the real marketplace in Indonesia, while sightseeing with beautiful scenery in the background. The Sunday market here is happened long time before Car Free Day in Bandung. It has became public place in Bandung, people came with different motivation, doing exercise, buy some foods, leisure, etc.

We walked until we reached the RRI tower, it was quite far, maybe around 2 km from the parking place (Salamun hospital) dan the road was steeping up. So, after that we searched good place to sit and had drinks. We ordered the coconut, while Aswin just had coffee with milk. For the snacks, they were tahu, tempe, perkedel and the brown rice. Actually, Aswin choose it because Anya, Icha & Christa never ate brown rice before. Really??

And then we're going back to the car and while on it, Aswin bought surabi oncom and sugar cane drink. But too bad for Christa, I guess with the height and her complexion everyone kept looking at her and when we stood still while waiting, people asked her to take photo with them. She said she never used to with all this attention although everyone kept saying while we're walking how pretty she is and she's looked like a doll. I just couldn't hold my smile when an older lady said, "Meuni geulis pisaaan, jiga boneka" :D

And lucky for Anya and Icha they've got Suju (Super Junior) Poster with very reasonable price. We were quite tired but still few of venues to go. After this we went to the Car Free Day on jalan Dago and also visited our campus, Institute Technology of Bandung. But before that we searched for the haunted house on jalan Ciumbuleuit, which surprisingly gone and turned into hotel.

Unfortunately, the Car Free Day already over because we're stuck on jalan Taman Sari. So, we took Christa a tour to our campus from the Labtek XII Architecture Dept. to the School Business and Management at the back side of the campus. And then we took pictures on the entrance and actually it was our first time. Well, it kind of an excuse since we accompany Christa :D

After that we were heading to next venue and it'll be on our next post.

Enjoy!
