Bali Culinary: The Lists

Bali has become one of my favorite place to spend the holiday with its unique and cultural place you never be bored of Bali. It also happen to its culinary, you can find all kind of foods here from local food to the Western one. My friend who reside in Denpasar, Bali gave me this long list of restaurant that everyone must try when they come to Bali. In 2009, I spent a whole week in Bali or Kuta for the exact place and the list became my guide. Here are the place that I visited based on that list and the food is very recommended:

1. Warung Wardani, Jalan Yudistira, Denpasar
It's the infamous nasi campur Bali, taste good but for some people the taste more "Javanese" than Balinese. It is quite expensive comparing with the other nasi Bali. It cost Rp. 25,000,- and don't worry it's Halal food.

2. Warung Adnyana, Jalan Patimura, Denpasar
For some people they prefer this nasi Bali, more spicy and more Bali like. The price is cheaper than Warung Wardani around Rp.20,000,-

Based on the list given by my friend, in Satria area has been well known for its Warung Nasi Campur Bali: Wardani, Adnyana, and Satria. The oldest one is Satria and Adnyana with the taste of Bali, while Wardani has mixed with taste from Java. The third one, warung Satria is located on Jalan Kedondong.

3. Ayam Taliwang, Jalan Teuku Umar, Denpasar
Basically this is the food original from Lombok, but my friend said the taste is better than the one He ate in Lombok. So, it also quite famous, because when I went there at lunch time the place quite packed. The taste is great, I never eat ayam Taliwang before this and what I really liked there is plecing kangkung, very spicy and good.

 4. Nasi Pedas Bu Andika, Jalan Raya Kuta, Kuta
The very well known Nasi Pedas in Bali. It is located near Joger Shop and stall is in front of store, so basically it's street food. I always went there, every time I came to Bali. On high season, the place is crowded and sometimes you eat without table. The special one is the chicken skin, it's spicy and crispy. The price range is around Rp. 12,000 - 25,000,-
