Pino Pizza (Take Away!)

As we craved for pizza, sometimes we are confused on where to order. But no worries, as we have found a new place to eat decent italian pizza near our house, the Pino Pizza. But, unfortunately, we still cannot ordered by phone there, so on this rainy day, me and my brother, Ahyar goes to the vendor.
We ordered two savory pizza and one sweet pizza. The savory tasted great, as the last time we go there. The sweet pizza is delicious. Overall a happy day! Hopefully they will provide a delivery service soon. Enjoy!

Dinner at Cafe Bali

Cafe Bali is one of the cafe that has been exist since a long time, even when the era of cafe emerge in Bandung like nowadays, where you can find cafe in every corner of the street. What make me amaze is the variety of food they have from Western food to Indonesian food, if it is your first time here you will find it hard to pick something to order.
So, it was one night on the first day of long weekend and of course we avoid Dago area for having our dinner, so Cafe Bali seems like great choice. And it also was rainy day, the temperature around Bandung was drop and having a hot beverage seems like a great idea at that time.
Luckily, when we go there the place is quite empty (usually it will be fully packed, as this place is quite famous for government officials meeting). So, we quickly ordered.
I choose to eat the Steak, Alia choose to eat Soto Bandung, the others ordered Soup and Gudeg. We also ordered some hot beverage (it was the main reason why we go here).
Overall the taste is still great. So if you are happened to be around Jl. Riau and hungry, you can go here. Enjoy!

Little Penang: Malaysian Cuisine at Living World

As there are so many food vendors at Living World we are very much confused to choose where to eat. But as the time is ticking to store closing, we quickly make a decision to eat here, at Little Penang.
The atmosphere is very much Malaysian, and so we think we should try signature dishes which originated from the area. So we ordered the Nasi Lemak, Laksa (although it is from Singapore), and Kwetiaw (although it is from China).
As you expect from Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine, the use of herbs and ingredients are plentiful here, but in a good way. Their taste really makes us want to revisit our trip to KL few months ago.
So, if you are craving for Malaysian food in Serpong area, be sure to visit this vendor. Selamat Makan!

Chicken BonChon: The Best Chicken Wings (?)

We are referenced to this vendor the last time we went on holiday to Singapore 2010 by Pia. She says that  they serves the best chicken wings in town. Unfortunately, she's right. The moment we reached the vendor at Ion Square, they already sold out :(.
Fast forward to the recent time. Finally, the BonChon phenomenon has reached Indonesia. So, the next time we go to BSD, we couldn't resist the temptation to go and visit Living World at Alam Sutera, as it says they have Chicken BonChon branch there.
The place was fully packed, and we are beginning to worry that the same thing happened in Singapore will repeat again. Thankfully by the time we visit the vendor at 09.30 pm, they still serves the Chicken.
We ordered a take away Chicken and goes directly to home. And yes, for us the taste is great! Really lives up to the expectation. So, the next time you want to taste a good Chicken Wings, be sure to visit the nearest BonChon vendor! Jal mogessemnida!

Brunch at Pasar Tong Tong

Since we are students, we have very flexible time and we could have bought our groceries in the morning, which we find it is perfect time, there's not a lot of people and parking lot barely empty.
In Bandung, like Griya (Yogya) Supermarket in Cihampelas Walk is open at 7 am and they offer discount for fresh stuffs like vegetables, fruits, and meats. If we went there between 7 am till 10 am, also free parking. But, in the morning we always need breakfast and mostly the restaurants in Cihampelas Walk are opened at 10 am, but there's one place available from 7 am, that is Pasar Tong Tong, which is located beside The Kiosk.

Based on Wikipedia, The Tong Tong Fair (formerly known as Pasar Malam Besar) is the largest festival in the world for Indo (European-Indonesian) culture, held annually in The Netherlands. In 2009 it was renamed to 'Tong Tong Fair'. Established in 1959 it is one of the oldest festivals and the fourth largest grand fair in The Netherlands. It is also the annual event with the highest number of paying visitors of the Dutch city of The Hague, having consistently attracted more than 100,000 visitors since 1993. The name ‘Pasar Malam Besar’ is derived from the Indonesian/Malay language and literally means ‘Great Night Market’. The new name was chosen to emphasise its link with the 'Tong Tong Foundation' and its cultural mission. Another reason was to distinguish oneself from the many other fairs under the name pasar malam.

First, we went there and have little snacks like toasted bread with cheese, which they served it on chopping block made from wood or we always called it talenan here and serabi oncom, it was coconut cake with fermented soybean sprinkled on the top and actually it was the mini version, so that's why you've got four pieces in a portion. We also ordered hot tea with sugar for our drink and the glass was in jumbo size, like the glass that was for drink beer. But, I was still hungry, so I had this Nasi Jenggo which only Rp. 6.500,-

And the second time we went there, we had the same craving for some noodles and meatballs, so we ordered the regular baso Solo (meatball from Solo) for me and mie ayam (chicken noodle) for Aswin and we also ordered the jumbo glass hot tea for two of us. The price for foods here is quite cheap, it's around Rp. 7000,- - Rp. 25.000,- and the taste not bad also. I guess the place is great for tourist if they want to have some snacks and foods that are originated from Bandung.

Karl's Burger (Again!)

We have covered Karl's Burger once before, but we guess we couldn't get enough with one trip there, so here we go!
Located in the new shophouse nearby, just in front of Setrasari Mall, their place has become bigger and more spacious. However, they still haven't changed their classic menu yet.
Their price might be a little bit higher compared with other fast food chain, but I believe they make it more delicious. I think because they freshly grilled their sandwich with order, so you will get fresh food from them. Today I tasted their fried chicken and cheese burger. The fried chicken is OK, but the cheese burger is special.
So if you are looking for alternative place to eat fast food. Just try Karl's Burger! Enjoy!

Papaya's Onigiri

Along the way, while we go and eat at Myeong Ga, we also go and visit the Papaya Supermarket. Here they have a vast of delicious snack and food to offer. One that intrigued me is their famous Onigiri. For you who haven't heard about Onigiri, it is basically a rice with fillings wrapped in seaweed, which usually being given to students as their lunch in Japan. Full explanation on Onigiri can be found here.
The onigiri design in Papaya is very unique. They even have direction on how to open and eat it. Very convenient! Next time we go there, we will try to have more Onigiri there. Itadakimashu!

Myeong Ga: Korean Corner at Papaya Supermarket

One of our cousin Icha, once mentioned about this Korean Restaurant that serves a delicious noodle dish, so without hesitation we drove there to find out. This time we are accompanied by Ramala, one of our architect friend from college.
The place is located as part of Papaya Supermarket in Sukajadi area. The place is tiny, but yet clean and looks promising. Alia ordered the Ramyun (Korean noodle), I ordered their Beef Kas, while Ramala ordered the Bibimbap. Overall the taste is very good! Really look forward to go here again! Jal Mogessemnida!
